Bermuda Lawn or Cynodon seed is easy to grow in South Africa

Bermuda grass is also known as Cynodon Dactylon or kweek grass in common Afrikaans.

Common Bermuda grass or Kweek is a fine leafed, green colour turf that spreads by stolons and rhizomes. lt is well adapted to a wide range of soil and climatic conditions and is not shade tolerant. Where frost occurs in winter it remains brown until early spring. By far the most popular bais for fine lawns. Use for lawns, fairways, hockey and athletic fields. Foms an important part of hydroseeding mixtures for soil stabilization.

Best Property : Can be cut as short as 3mm

Spreads extremely quickly under ideal conditions; one M² will cover an area equal to the whole of South Africa in one year under the ideal conditions.

  • An extremely hardy lawn, well suited and adapted to a wide range of soil and climatic conditions.
  • Requires less water and a little maintenance.
  • Can definitely not tolerate shade.
  • Will turn yellow in the winter and look dead.

Sowing density: 20-40grams per M² or 200-400 Kg per hectare.
